Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American sportscaster. She hosts SportsNation and is an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She started working at ESPN in 2016. Her mother is the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been so since her age of nine. This skill helped her to get her first job at Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was hired as a reporter by the CBS station as the sports reporter. In 2009, she moved from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent at KNVO TV 48 Univision. In addition to reporting on issues related to the issue of immigration and drug trafficking from both sides of the border, she was an anchor for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor and reporter for news at 9 p.m. news in English and also another reporter for the at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. In Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. She is older than her sister. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and moved to Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and in 1995 her mother was remarried to one of the naval architects known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. On a trip, Antonietta stayed at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten an offer to work. Antonietta still a senior at high school, yet she was clear about the career she wanted to pursue. So while assessing if Mount Union is the right choice to her needs, Antonietta visited the school. It turned out that she loved the campus and they were offering the kind of program she was searching for. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and began studying media at the university. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was part of her class, developed an ongoing relationship with her. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be self-confident and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply influenced her. She, determined to meet the expectations of him and not fail him.
